On the 2nd of October Emma, Katie and the Otago Aerobics team flew up to Tauranga for 6 days to compete at the 2018 New Zealand Gymnastics Championships. They were competing in Gymsport Aerobics, which was held at the ASB Baypark Arena. They had been competing with these routines at local competitions since April and had both qualified for this national competition.

They both competed in an individual and a pair or trio. Emma competed in Aeroschools level 4 (12-14) and Katie competed in Aeroschools level 5 (12-14) and (15+) for her trio. They both had to compete in a heat and the top 8 made it through to finals. Both girls made it through with their routines.

In the finals, Emma placed 3rd for her individual and 1st for her pair. Katie placed 1st for her individual and 1st for her trio. They both also achieved proficiency for their routines, meaning they have scored higher than a 16.5, which is above average and very hard to get at nationals.

In another competition, Emma Green, Emmy Stedman, and Katie Child competed in the NZCAF (New Zealand Competitive Aerobics Federation) National Championships in Wellington. They had some outstanding results here too!

Emma  - 1st overall, Intermediate Individual (year 7-8)Emma and Emmy - 1st overall, Intermediate Teams (year 7-8)Emma was also awarded the Intermediate (year 7-8) National Champion trophy!Katie placed 1st overall in the FISAF Cadet (age 11-13) category.Katie also competed in the Secondary Fitness Team Category (year 9-13) who placed 1st overall and they received the "Innovative Choreography Trophy".
