Haere mai and welcome to all our new Year 7 students

It has been a wonderful start to 2019 in Year 7 with our new Tahuna students looking fantastic in their uniforms. They are finding their away around the school and starting to get involved in the many opportunities on offer.  Meetings have already been held for cricket, touch, volleyball and art classes.

Teachers have been working hard to get the students gel together within their classrooms.  Initial assessments are ongoing as a means to ensuring we provide for the learning needs of all our students.

This year all our students will work with our Mandarin teaching assistants to learn Mandarin. Next week they will have their first tech rotations which will be exciting for them.

Year 7 camps start in week three and continue through to the final week of the term. This year our camps are at Tirohanga and Berwick and offer our students a wide range of activities and experiences which help to build new relationships with their peers and teacher.

This week the students had a performance from the itinerant music teachers. If your child is interested in learning to play an instrument while they are at Tahuna please encourage them to get in touch with Anna Bowen or fill out the online form.

If you have any concerns regarding your child please don't hesitate to contact their teacher and discuss it with them.
