On the 2nd of July 2019, a group of Tahuna students participated in the EPro8 finals for the Dunedin/ Otago region. In the challenge, we had to build large structures using lots of motors and other things ranging from lasers to counters. To solve these we were given a problem like…. “James has a Job picking fruit, you must build a device that will count and collect the apples etc…. Or “You are working in a banana factory, and you need to make some contraptions that wash the bananas on both sides using lights and when there are 4 bananas on a truck that you made it will drive off” One of the Tahuna teams came 4th and the other came 5th although it was a very close combination out of nine schools.
