Team 1's Beach Clean up

By Kate Walsh | Posted: Thursday September 19, 2019

This term in Year 7 we have been learning about Climate Change.

Team 1 were inspired to make a difference after learning about all the rubbish getting into the ocean and environment. We therefore decided to have a beach clean-up to conclude the unit and make a difference.

On Thursday, Team 1 made their way to John Wilson's Drive to collect as much rubbish as we could. We had ordered bags and gloves from "Keep New Zealand Beautiful" to help with the collection.

We were surprised at how much rubbish we were able to find. There were lots of MacDonalds wrappers and bits of plastic littered all over the place. It has shown us how important it is to make sure your rubbish goes in the bin and items that can be recycled, are recycled.

A big thank you to Miss Brawley, Mrs Stuart, Miss Pearce, Miss O'neil and Miss Walsh for organising and helping with the Beach Clean up.
