With two students in The Hub who have received blue cards in the first week we wanted to explain how Tahuna's values system works.

Students are rewarded by teachers for displaying aspects of our school values throughout the week. Teachers have blue cards they can award to any student in the school who they feel is worthy of recognition.

Once students have collected the required number of blue cards for each level they are acknowledged in assembly and awarded with the corresponding values band. Respect - 5 blue cards Responsibility -10 blue cards Creativity - 15 blue cards Success - 20 blue cards.

Band holders also receive preferential sports choices and do not have to line up in the canteen queue. They are also taken into account when choosing students for activities that are highly subscribed like Remuera, Skiing, Rafting etc... Success bands also receive extra rewards like a $5 canteen voucher.
