Gem Stone

Poem By Kate Zou Rm17

Gems and crystals, metal and stones

Some quite rare and some quite unknown

Some as old as 4 billion years old

And some as young as a a few years ago

Popular ones like Diamonds and Sapphires

Some even loved in early empires!

There are ones that are made by organics

Pearls, Amber, but surely not Agates

Quartzes are popular

Amethysts, Citrines (Sit-rines)

Want them? Go mine.

Durability is also important

There are hard ones like Diamonds and Rubies

And soft ones like Opals, Amber

But both need caring to keep its glamour

To end this poem let’s list off a few

Lapis, Aquamarine, Topaz with a blue hue

White zircon, Moissanite, Gypsum clear all over

Emerald, Jade, Demantoid coloured like a clover

Pyrope, Sunstone, Carnelian orange and red

Lolite, Sugilite, Taaffeite, purple ahead

Onyx, Obsidian, Jet all dark as ink

And finally Morganite, Rose Quartz, Kunzite, cute and pink.
