Year 8 Climbing at Long Beach is underway!

One of Tahuna's many Outdoor Education opportunities got underway yesterday with Room 5's trip to Long Beach for rockclimbing.

The heavy rain of the last few days disappeared just in time and we had a fantastic day in a pretty special place.  We got to work in groups of 3 at the rock face and took it in turns to climb and to belay. There were some easier climbs and some really challenging ones and so there was something to suit everyone. The rock face we climbed is called the Pinnacle and some of us got a great view across the Southern Ocean from up on high.

Add in the expertise of professionals from Dave Brash Climbing, a game of beach cricket, exploring the amazing caves and a yummy barbecue and all in all it was a great day out for the whole class.
