Escher Tessellation Maths/Art

Room 8 has been creating tessellation art in Maths this term based on the artist M.C Escher

This term we have been studying Shape in Maths.

We began by doing an artist study on M.C Escher where we learnt about his life and his work.

Then we learnt about different types of tessellations before learning how to make tessellating shapes using several different methods. We then came up with our own tessellating shape.

The final step was to make several copies of our tessellation and then make this into an artwork.

This was a very fun (and creative) way for us to learn about how shapes work together. Well done Room 8!
