Long Beach Rock Climbing in R11

In Week 7, R11 headed out to long beach for their final rock climbing session. We were very lucky and were able to get a brilliant sunny day!

They class split into two. One group on the wall and the other going for a cave walk and activities on the beach.

After first, lots of kids were nervous about climbing the rock face but they soon gained their confidence.

I'm really glad that I gave it a go and faced my fear of heights. I had a lot of support from my team members which made me feel better. It felt great to be at the top. - Tauaoa Poma

It was a challenging and entertaining day. My favourite part was being buried in the sand and becoming a mermaid. The parents helpers were really supportive and helped me get up the wall. I did the two challenging climbs and they were fun. The hardest part was at the very end because I had no energy but still had power through to get down. - Matt Davies

We were really lucky that we got a really sunny day which got everyone pumped and energised. I liked being able to have a go a climbing and also have fun on the beach. The hardest part was keeping climbing when you were really puffed. It was also cool having a look around the different caves at Long Beach. - Jemma Gray
