In Tahuna's exciting Marae Week, room 15 have been mainly focusing on harakeke.

Marae week is the most exciting week in the year when the year 8's go to an actual Marae and the year7's learn about the culture of the maori's and get to learn how they lived in the bush. In room 15 we got to do harakeke and it was an amazing experience.  First we made rope or taura by scraping of the muka and plaiting the fibres, then we made woven flowers or puawai. Everyone really enjoyed their time crafting the flax.
