REMUERA INTERMEDIATE EXCHANGE 20th June – 25th June

1st February

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

REMUERA INTERMEDIATE EXCHANGE

Mid Term Two (late May), up to 30 pupils, two teachers and a parent, will fly to Auckland where they will be met by their billets from Remuera Intermediate School. From Monday to Friday, they will be engaged in a number of educational activities at venues around Auckland. This programme will include activities like visiting Kelly Tarltons, Sky City, Auckland Zoo, Rainbows End, Rangitoto to name a few. The group finally flies home on Friday afternoon.

The approximate cost for the trip is $600. This is dependent on the cost of flights.

Applications for this trip must be received by 22nd February

Children who are able and wish to be considered for this opportunity are asked to complete a short CV, stating why they deserve to be in this group travelling to Auckland. [ C.V. guidelines on back of this sheet ]

It is also important that the child's parent/caregiver signs this C.V endorsing what is written, granting permission and also agreeing to back the child financially.

As the pupils travelling to Auckland will be deemed to be ambassadors for Tahuna Intermediate, they will be pupils who have demonstrated consistently high standards of behaviour and who have taken an active part in a variety of school activities and challenges. A good number of applicants pick themselves as they prepare and present a sound C.V and / or have positive endorsements from staff.

Later in the year 30 pupils and accompanying adults from Remuera Intermediate will fly to Dunedin and spend time with Tahuna pupils at school, visiting places of interest around Dunedin and will also spend three nights away in Central Otago. It is expected those who have travelled and been billeted in Auckland reciprocate by billeting a Remuera child in Dunedin for five nights.

Over many years this excursion has been very successful. We think that this is a significant educational opportunity for some of our pupils and a valued link with another school in a large city.
