8A Netball Success.

The bulk of the 8A netball team has been together for 2 years and concluded their time together representing Tahuna and Otago at the Otago/Southland Primary and Intermediate Schools Tournament in Balclutha.

The Tahuna 8A netball team participated in the Otago Primary and Intermediate tournament held on the 25th of August. 28 Year 8 teams from around the region were involved. Tahuna were strong during pool play, winning all three games by large margins. This set them up for a quarter final battle against Kavanagh 8A, a team they have played many times but never beaten. In one of their best performances of the year Tahuna won by 4 goals to take them through to the semi. They went down to Valley (Oamaru) but bounced back well to win their 3rd/4th playoff to Rosebank (Balclutha).

By placing third it meant a trip to Balclutha on the 4th of September to represent not only Tahuna, but Otago in the Otago/Southland regional tournament. The girls played well and although they came away with 2 losses and a draw were 6th in Otago/Southland. A great way to cap off 2 years which has seen them move from Grade 4 in the Dunedin competition to Grade 1.

Congratulations on a successful year Tahuna 8A :)
