EPRO8 Challenge

Four teams are heading to Dunedin North Intermediate to compete.

Over the past few weeks students have been busy competing against  each other to build fire engines, helicopters and scarecrows. We had six teams competing in our school competition to via for the four teams going through to the inter schools.

The students have worked well in their teams and have made simple machines move with the help of motors and electronics.

On the 20th of June at 5:00pm our four Tahuna Teams will be competing in the inter-schools EPRO8 Challenge. The students will arrive for a briefing before being given their engineering challenge booklets.

Then, each team has to decide which of the build challenges they are going to attempt to complete. As they work through key engineering aspects they are awarded points. Sometimes a build is too slow and the teams have to decide if they are going to continue or start a new challenge.

The scoring is quite tense and nail bitting finishes are expected as the point jump around throughout the evening. You never can tell who is going to win until the very last moment.
