Contrats to Team Tahuna who represented us all so well at the national finals in Wellington.

After months of trials, practices, regional competition, more practices, fundraising, more practices, more fundraising and then more practices, we were finally off to Wellington for the Lit Quiz National Final 2022.

The team were so excited to finally be on our way, especially Iris Feltham who made the team last year and won the regional, but the national final was called off.

After dropping our bags at the hotel in Wellington we set off exploring; we found bubble tea, Daiso, book shops, record shops and we even completed a bunch of challenges too.

Our next stop was NZ Parliament where we had a fascinating tour of the the buildings, debating chamber, library plus so much more. We wrapped up our day with kai on Cuba St before strategising back at the hotel.

The next day after breakfast we headed out into lightning, thunder and torrential rain (which was not going to be an omen for the day). We checked out an art gallery on the waterfront, strolled the waterfront, visited Te Papa and had loaded fries as we walked to the National Library.

The National Library was a hive of activity with some of the best young literary minds in Aotearoa. We fought so hard for the title, but it wasn't to be on the day. A massive congratulations to Belmont Intermediate for winning the 2022 title.

We celebrated our achievements with more bubble tea, a yummy dinner out and games and a movie back at the hotel before the flight home the next morning.

Congratulations to Iris Feltham, Madeline Hage-Sleiman, Ashling Coffey and Maddy Macaulay - you are such awesome young people. It was a privilege to share this experience with you. A MASSIVE kia ora to Rebecca Brushwood for your hard work and support on the trip too!

We have learnt a lot from this experience and know what we need to do next year; so look out 2023!
