Year 7 students enjoyed their session in the workshop designing a gift or a Taonga with a meaning or story .

Students designed and made their projects from materials they choose that would look similar to traditional materials. Like 'Kahikatea', White Pine and 'Pounamu', Greenstone, and Paua.

The shells are used for the eyes in carvings, and the lip of the shell was fashioned into a fishing lure. The shells are also decorated for jewellery.
