Activity Day

On Wednesday we had activity day with room 17, where you get put into a group and get three rotations throughout the day.

My first rotation was Frisbee golf where you are in pairs and get a frisbee to throw at the 9 numbered trees in the least throws possible. I was in a pair with Abby, we were alright at the game but kept accidentally throwing our poor frisbee into the dirty freezing water below, we kept on having to climb down and retrieve it. We ended up finishing with around 30 throws and with 40 minutes until lunch so we threw the frisbee to each other a few times before collapsing to the ground and relaxing for the rest of the time.

After lunch my next rotation was bivvy making. After the instructions it was time to pick our group, I was dreading this because none of my friends were in my group, and I thought I would end up being put with a random group of girls that wouldn't want to be in a group with me but then a pair of boys randomly invited me into their group.

We went up to the forest to start building when one of the boys pointed out to the other boy and me he didn't know how to make a bivvy We thought it would be fine because the other boy did and I had done it lots at Nature School, but it turned out it wasn't. We started to make the bivvy and it was turning out great when the boy who didn't know how to make a bivvy started to try and check if it was strong enough. When he found out it was strong enough to stand on with one foot he decided it was a good idea to jump on it until it finally collapsed. It was annoying at first (because he kept on repeating this) but in the end we just laughed about it, we got disqualified for not having a bivvy but we didn't mind we had lots of fun. After we had finished that rotation it was afternoon tea time, but sadly at 2:15 before I could go to my last rotation I had to go back to school as I wasn't staying the night.
