It was not only the audience who were delighted by Tahuna's performance but the organisors and Regent theatre staff who gave wonderful feedback.

Every two years Stars on Stage is an option at Tahuna and there were a lot of people who jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it this year and it was totally worth it.

We began rehearsing for the big day at the very beginning of term two as we wanted our performance to be as polished as possible. Our concept of the dance was dream it, believe it, and achieve it.

First we were split into boy and girl groups and practiced during elective times. During these elective times we started to practice the finale performance first as we thought this was the most vital part to learn and polish. Then we were put into groups for our three different dances (opening, hip hop, and one.) Then we started to have fun with it everyone was contributing ideas and gradually we started to see the dances form and everything was slowly coming together.

Then we merged the boys and the girls. Then things like lines and partners were decided and we started to see the performance come together. Then all we had to do now was practice, practice and more practice.

After months of practice we were finally ready, and the big day couldn't have come fast enough in the middle of the day we were taken by bus to the Regent Theatre to have a run through and workout all the outlying details like lights and final positioning as we went through our performance we got a feel for where we needed to be and when then we got bused back to school went home and had some food.

Not long after we came back to school again and meet in the staff room. The feeling in the room was very tense but also an element of excitement as we got changed and did hair and makeup. Then we got bused back to the Regent and we learned we were the finale, the closing act for that day. After we watched all the performances we got taken to the Regent's basement or the holding room for the next performers.

Then finally we got taken backstage and as our name was announced we all rushed onto the black stage and the intensity in the room was real after the audience clapped you could almost hear a pin drop everything was silent then the curtain came rushing up in came a wave of light to meet us then everything just clicked. The music started and then all the adrenaline was channeled into the dance giving it the energy it needed. Everyone was smiling and our performance just went so well. Everyone was in the right place at the right time and everything just clicked, it was so fun and everyone put in 100% which took the dance to the next level.

But of course we couldn't have done it without the help, assistance, and guidance given by Miss Leonard and Mrs Coughlin so thanks heaps we couldn't have done it without you!   -Amadee Reynolds
