During the first week of term 4 Tahuna will host a Chinese Immersion Day. The day will be filled with fun activities that 12 schools from the Otakou Mandarin Cluster will attend.

With such a successful 2016 Immersion Day we are again hosting the event here at Tahuna.  With in excess of 960 students involved in Mandarin Language in 2017 we are set for a big day.

During the day students will have opportunity to explore activities that are unique to the Chinese Culture.  We again have been luck to have 13 MLA from throughout Otago and Southland that are able to attend the day.  Activities will include: Tai Chi / Tai Ji Fan Dancing / Paper Cutting / Dumpling / Tea Ceremony / Kung Fu / Crafts / Games and experiencing traditional Chinese music.

The event will also be visited by the Asia New Zealand Foundation, DCC and the Confucius Institute and local media.

Additionally for 2017 we will also have a live stream to our Sister School(s) Zhongzhou Foreign Language Middle School No.2 and Zhonhzhou Foreign Language Primary Schools who we recently visited.  These schools will both send students to visit Dunedin and Tahuna in coming months and with regularity in 2018.  Tahuna students will also have opportunity to be able to enjoy an exchange experience to visit China in 2018.

If you have some time on the 18th October come on down and have a look.
