Room 17 Picture Books

This term Room 17 have been designing and making our own picture book! We get to write and illustrate it by ourselves which is a good learning opportunity and it is also super fun!

We started by drawing up a grid with 4 squares. We designed two characters and a background for them all! We then had to make a book cover for them! A lot of us loved the plan we had done and already had a good idea in our heads for our picture books! My friends and I friends decided to make a book series together about 6 best friends. Once we were given our paper to start we all got straight into it! We all loved doing the cover and having a chance to design our own books. We even made a barcode , price and publishing logo for our books. We are starting on writing our books and illustrating the pages at the moment. Using Google Docs we can also share our stories with our friends to help make improvements. Some people have just about finished because they love it so much. Looking at all the books so far you can tell our class really enjoys making picture books and all like drawing! We all find it really fun as we are actually writers and illustrators for real. I  cant wait until we get to share them all at the end!
