After recently visiting the Green Island Landfill as part of our Sustainability topic, we visited the Tahuna Waste Treatment Plant to see just what happens to our waste and how all the alterations and upgrades have dramatically and positively impacted on our neighbouring coastline.

The Tahuna "A" squad completed a second consecutive unbeaten season when they beat John McGlashan "A" in the final of the Year 7/8 intermediate hockey competition.

A fantastic win for the Tahuna "A" hockey team on Friday night with an outstanding 7-0 victory over John McGlashan "A". Despite the steady rain Tahuna were able to play great attacking hockey to bring the trophy back to Tahuna for another year.

Meg Sayers, a Year 8 student at Tahuna Normal Intermediate School, is the pupil staff feel is fully deserving of being the recipient of the 2016 Sir Peter Blake Medal.

Recently six pupils from Tahuna competed at the Otago Aerobics Regionals. The team (Emily McLennan, Ali Bloem, Abby Green, Morgan Alcock, Brooke Fox and Wairaamia Taratoa-Bannister) placed first in the the Intermediate Fitness Team section. They also received the Most Promising Intermediate’s Trophy.
