In the second week of the holidays there was a U13 South Island basketball tournament. The teams were Otago A,Canterbury Red and Black,North Canterbury,Southland Mid Canterbury and Nelson.

A quick drive to Kings and 11 Tahuna students got to hang with nine bands, 22 guitars, bass, drums, microphones, amps get the opportunity to jam with Jon Toogood of Shihad.

For the last two weeks we have been hosting four Thai students in Rooms 14 & 7. The students of those classes have done a fantastic job of making our guests feel very welcome.

We recently took part in the nationwide earthquake drill ShakeOut. At 9.15am on the 15th October Tahuna and 1.3 million other New Zealanders took part in this activity.

It is always good to end a busy term with a fantastic school wide event and this week our annual athletic sports was one. Although the wind was cool, the conditions were dry and sunny and Tahuna students, organised in their house groups, competed with great enthusiasm and determination.
