The Tahuna Hall was full for the welcoming assembly on the first day of school. Te Taiopeka welcomed the new students and teachers into the hall before Mr Hunter gave his opening address. Staff were also introduced to the students and a warm welcome was given to our International Students.

Welcome back to a new school year and a special welcome to those families who are new to our school this year. We welcome all returning students as well and put out the challenge to everyone to make the most of every opportunity. Observing the manners, attitudes and behaviour of students over the first week it certainly looks set to be another amazing year at Tahuna.

It has been a great start with all programmes up and running from day one and there is a real enthusiasm and energy for learning around the school.  The two years at Tahuna are a significant time in your child's life and we are ready to guide your children through this period in a fun, rewarding and challenging manner. We encourage all parents and caregivers to take an active role in our school and look forward to working with you throughout the year. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any concerns.

On behalf of our chairperson, Mike McCaw and myself, I wish you all the best for a happy and successful 2019.

Kind regards

Tony Hunter
