I WALK TO THE BEAT OF MY OWN DRUM!

Playing the drums is exactly what the pupils have been doing in music.

This term the students at Tahuna have been learning and playing the 'Djembe' drum, a drum that originates from West Africa. We have been looking at different beats and rhythms and concentrating on accents and dynamics with the drum. 

Each class had to create their own eight beat rhythm to use with the whole class. From there, we put together a piece of music with different groups playing different rhythmical parts.
