Haka/ Poi

Room 16 Winners! Room 18 Runners-up!

Not quite traditional, but white plastic bags and plaited wool were used to make our poi. We then had to learn how to manipulate the poi, sing and move at the same time. We managed to combine traditional moves with the odd twist in choreography.

Our judge, Whaea Karyn, when asked for comment, said that the standard was extremely high  because of the exceptional mix of contemporary and traditional choreography. She acknowledged that the both girls & boys performed in a professional and consistent manner.
