Tahuna Otago Rugby Representatives 2017

In the first week of the holidays there was a South Island rugby competition held here in Dunedin. There was a good representation of Tahuna students.

 Samuel McCormack, Sam Vial, Sam Stedman, Hunter Crawford, Griffin Wingham and Jasper Rainey all took part in the Otago Rugby teams.

In the Under 65kg Otago team, Samuel McCormack, Max O'Connor and Quin Mcleod’s team played and unluckily lost in the final to Southland but got to play in the stadium.

In the Under 48kg Otago team which Sam Stedman was in they played and tied  the final but since they lost to Canterbury Country they lost the competition. The final was also played at Forsyth Barr Stadium. Sam was later named in the South Island Under 48kg team, and was named most promising forward for his team.

In the Otago Invitational Under 48kg team was Hunter, Griffin, Jasper, Joe Parkinson and Sam Vial. Their team had mixed results at the tournament. Hunter Crawford was named best forward in his team.

Overall, a great experience!
