Chinese Bridge Competition Success

Olivia Duffy carried on the Tahuna tradition of performing incredibly at a competition mainly for high school students. Here is her recount.

DUNEDIN.

I was feeling nervous as I walked up in front of the judges. I read out my speech and did my talent later. After everyone had done their speech we all walked to the waiting area which had yummy food. Soon after it was the prize giving and I never expected to get second place for the junior category. The prize was two bats and something similar to a shuttlecock.

CHRISTCHURCH.

We all got on the plane and headed to Christchurch. We explored the University of Canterbury then waited two hours before we got lunch. At 1pm we started the speeches. I soon realised I was the youngest there! When the last person finished their speech the food came out. It was so good! Right after that the prize giving started I was awarded a  distinction. The prize was Chinese cutlery.
