3D Atoms in R11

This term our topic focus has been Chemistry.

Throughout the term we were lucky enough to go down to Chemistry Labs at the Otago University where Dr Dave taught us about chemical reactions. In class we have been doing different science experiments and also learning about the Periodic Table and Atoms. For one of our projects we had to create a 3D Atom. First, we had to choose an Element and then calculate how many protons, neutrons and electrons it had. We then had to make a 3D model of that element. It was awesome to see how many different creative ways we could do this by incorporating STEAM. We particularly enjoyed the models made out of cookies and cakes! Our next step is making a 3D version on CoSpaces and creating a virtual Science Lab - Stay tuned!
