Water testing at Tomahawk Lagoon

Check out our fabulous scientists observing their testing site.

Last Wednesday we had 8 students head down to the Tomahawk Lagoon to take part in an induction day for water testing.  This year the students will be focusing on collecting and analysing samples as well as creating scientific stories based on their findings and observations.

Last week our observations were...

The water level was considerably lower than our testing last year.

The salinity hadn't changed.

There was a blue/green discolouration to the water.

There was one perch and one bully as well as one fat eel in the traps.

We look forward to continuing our scientific investigation of the lagoon and writing our stories this year to help inform others about the work we do and the quality of the lagoon.
