Rugby 101 a hit!

Rugby elective on a Friday is becoming a real testing ground for up and coming rugby enthusiasts at Tahuna.

Kane Jury, who is the Kings High School Sports coordinator has a seen a real passion for rugby at Tahuna rugby elective on Fridays. The boys are always ready to give his training drills a good go, and come off happy and excited for not only their respective teams but also for their newly found skills.

Mr Jury who runs the Kings programme is excited about the potential at Tahuna and keen to funnel that through to Kings in the coming years.  The Tahuna students are usually ready to go before the 11.30 bell as they prepare to head to Pirates Rugby grounds for a good hour of tackling, ball skills and drills. Every Friday the lads are ready for "the hard yards" with tackling and ball security drills but are happy to settle for Mr Jury's skills session before that happens.

Every session ends with a good game of 'pop touch' to encourage the boys to use their new skills, often followed by a resounding cheer and high fives!

Well done lads.
