DRAMA WITH CINDY DIVER

Over the last few weeks all Year 7 classes have been lucky enough to have three drama sessions with Cindy Diver focussing on exploring Identity.

A few week ago we had a very special person come into Room 6 to work with us.  Her name was Cindy and she is a drama teacher.  Her sessions were about who we are in the world and our status.

Cindy took us through some drama activities that helped us explore our identity, who we are in the world and how we can change the way people see us.  Cindy taught us a fun game called a ‘Martha’. The aim of it was to make a scene using whatever category she gave us.  These included things like a bathroom or a construction site to name just a few.

This activity must be done while frozen, but more and more people can join in.  On the last day she put out cards and we could stand on the one we are most like e.g. the class clown or mathematician.  We then used this to make our tribes where we made up a chant and a greeting.

Everyone had lots of fun and we learnt lots about ourselves and the other kids in our class.
