Lockdown in the Scott Household

Hi everyone, hope you are all safe and well in your 'bubbles'!

In my household we have enjoyed walking down to the Bayfield inlet and searching the shore to find crabs and starfish, exploring the local golf course, walking around our neighbourhood and counting the bears in the windows and playing games together.

The activity that seems to have the greatest interest has been cooking! A great activity to incorporate some science and measurement. Also important to make sure the cleaning up and dishes get done properly!

My children have enjoyed watching Nadia Lim's Comfort Cooking on Channel 1 at 4:30pm, and have made muffins, panna cotta, gnocchi, chicken soup and fresh bread rolls.

The recipes are all available online

I have loved watching local kitchens and restaurants like Riverstone Kitchen do online demonstrations on how to make some of their favourite recipes.

I look forward to students sharing some of their favourite recipes with me so we can create our own online Tahuna recipe book.

A big thank you to all of those essential workers in our community.

Take care, stay safe and stay home.
