South Island Mandarin Language Success

Ruby Stretch-Treweek has won a place in the National Mandarin Language Speech competition to be held in Auckland on August 2nd this year.

The Mandarin Language programme has continues to develop throughout the Otakou Cluster Schools.  The MLA (Mandarin language assistants) are doing a fantastic job and the schools involved are thoroughly enjoying the 2018 programme.

Recently Ruby entered the 2018 Chinese Bridge  Competition held at Tahuna.  Participants were from around Dunedin and Otago.

Ruby placed first in the speech section and also placed first in the special talent section.  This gained her a flight and trip to Christchurch to compete in the South Island competition.  This saw Ruby jet set her way out to Christchurch on Sunday and was able to showcase her talents to again.

Well done Ruby!! Yes, she placed FIRST!

"I love learning Mandarin and and so grateful to Zuo Nana who has been so patient and kind", Ruby said.

Using Language Nut and our Mandarin lessons have inspired Ruby to do so well.

Woooo Hooooo RUBY!!

Well done to you and good luck for the Auckland based Nationals
