Stars on Stage

Wow! Fast paced and slick, colourful and cool. This year's performance had something for everyone and was a big hit with the audience.

Tahuna performed our "Stars on Stage" routine on Tuesday night. It was obvious from the minute that the lights went up on our boys that the months of hard work had paid off. There was surprise after surprise when the girls, in pink flapper dresses, appeared, followed by the very cute "tappers".

It was the entrance of our "Brum" car that really got the audience humming and our boys' rendition of "Greased Lightning" took it to another level.

"Uptown Funk" was our finale piece , this was expertly executed by the Year 7 girls and complimented by our full cast of 100 students on stage.

A performance like this cannot be undertaken without a team working behind the scenes.  We were able to draw on the expertise of Mr Arnold (car-maker extraordinaire), Mr Boyes (design guru and problem-solver), Miss Leonard ("Uptown Funk" and cheerleaders), Oliver Coughlin (car paint and detail), Alex Coughlin ("Greased Lightning" and Tappers), Miss Brocklebank (Music and crowd control), Mr Tunoka and Mr Phillips (Backstage).

We are very proud of our "Performing Arts" students and know that many of these talented performers will continue to hone their skills into the future.

A DVD of the Stars On Stage performance is available to order from the school office. Please include your child's Name, Room Number, and quantity required. These are $15 each and include all the performances. Payment must be made before Friday 18 September and please make cheques payable to Tahuna Normal Intermediate.
