Uniform
Pride and appearance goes hand in hand with standards, building self-esteem and confidence.
Uniform should be comfortable, allowing for growth and worn with pride.
The complete Tahuna Normal Intermediate School uniform is available from the New Zealand Uniform Shop located at 342 Moray Pl, Dunedin, 9016.

Full School Uniform
Full school uniform is to be worn to and from school every day.
(Girls regulation socks are plain white. Navy blue tights are optional for winter)
Navy Canterbury track pants are also permitted to be worn as part of the PE uniform and to and from school in the winter months.
P.E Gear
P.E gear including a pair of appropriate sports shoes is to be carried to school everyday. This uniform is for P.E sessions only; students must change out of their P.E gear before leaving school at the end of the day. Optional extras to the PE gear are navy trackpants that can be worn in terms two and three. We also have an optional sports hoodie that can be worn as part of our PE gear all year round.
Hats
Are to be worn at break times in term one 2025. These are available at the uniform shop and should be named.
School Shoes
Plain black lace-up leather/leather-looking shoes are regulation uniform. No canvas sports shoes are permitted. High cut shoes, boots, slip-ons or buckled-shoes are not suitable. Any sneakers/trainers/running shoes are suitable for PE but not formal uniform
Naming Uniform
It is essential that all items of clothing be named. A huge amount of lost property is handed in to the office daily, and can be returned to it’s owner if named.
General Appearance
No make-up, nail polish or jewellery please. One or two small plain gold/silver stud in each ear is the only exception.
Hair is to be of natural colour and if long, tied back with a plain hair tie. No colourful headbands, Scrunchies, or clips to be worn.
