3 Podium places for Tahuna at The Sassenachs Rugby Tournament.

On the 23rd of September three teams from Tahuna represented the school in the annual Sassenachs rugby tournament. In previous years, Tahuna has performed very well and this year proved no different.

The Year 8 boys started the day with a narrow loss to Balmacewen but then powered through and won all of their games including the final against Balmacewen. This convincing win secured the Sassenachs shield locking it away until next year. The Year 7 boys started their day strong with a some hard fought wins but unfortunately narrowly lost to a strong Kavanagh side. However, still in contention for a podium finish, the team dug deep and sealed the win in the 3rd/4th playoff to take bronze.

The Year 7/8 girls deserve their own paragraph in this newsletter. A team full of mixed experienced girls dominated the competition by winning all of their games and claiming the trophy. With the combination of awesome teamwork and  fantastic attitudes, the girls teamed up within just one week to form the “A Team”. Well done girls!
