Simon Clarke - Principal

It is a privilege to serve the Tahuna School Community and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with you and your child.

I was a third year college student at Tahuna Intermediate before taking on my first teaching job in a Year 7 class at Macandrew Intermediate. From there, I moved to Balmacewen Intermediate to take on the Deputy Principal role for ten years before moving to Kaikorai Primary School as Principal for the last ten years.

My wife and I sent our two children to Tahuna Intermediate where they had a great time and were well prepared for high school.

As you can see I have had a long history of being involved in Intermediates and I am passionate about working with this age group and their teachers.

I believe these years are a very special time in a child’s life and education. It is a time that they can find out what they like and perhaps more importantly what they don’t like in a safe and secure way before moving onto high school. Tahuna Intermediate will endeavour to provide a wide range of activities so that every child can find and follow their passions. We want our young people to experience a balance between academic success, positive social interactions and full involvement in sports, cultural activities and the arts. We also want them to have a bit of fun along the way!
