Tahuna Normal Intermediate - back to normal at last!
Kia ora koutou. Term 4 has started at a cracking pace and it is hard to believe that we are already in week 5. The school has made the most of the return to normal routines and we have been able to 'catch up' on activities disrupted by Covid earlier in the year.
Year 7 camps that were missed in Term 1 have now been completed, the Year 7 Biking activities and the Year 8 Climbing programme have been completed. We also have held our own Polyfest evening in partnership with DNI which was fantastic opportunity for our cultural performance groups to perform live to a large audience. At the end of Term 3 we were able to celebrate creativity and success with the 2040 Exhibition at the Otago Polytechnic which was a focus of Otakou Schools STEAM initiative.
Winter sports have finished for the year so a big thank you to all the parents, coaches and parents that helped out to enable so many of students to participate in these activities. School and South Zone Athletics have passed and now a large team of Tahuna athletes are practicing hard for the Otago Championships coming up on the 17th of November.
Year 7 and Year 8 Marae weeks are coming up and with the usual exciting end of year activities on the horizon we look forward to an enjoyable and fun end of year. As always our focus will be on appreciating learning together and our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Creativity and Success.
Nga mihi
