Our Stasa in Les Miserables!

We are very proud of Stasa who played a key role in the recent Musical Theatre performance of Les Miserables. Stasa has recalled her exciting experience;

In 2020 I was selected to be part of the Les Miserables cast through Musical Theatre Dunedin. I auditioned and was given the role the next day of playing young Cosette and little Eponine.

One year before the audition I had started practicing the song 'Castle on a cloud' which was the song I sang solo. The show was originally scheduled for May of 2020 but because of Covid 19 the show was postponed to May 2021. Due to there being no Les Miserables that year, they did the highlights show instead and I had the role of Matilda in that.

There were ten Les Mis shows in total and I played Cosette three times and Eponine three times. There were two other girls playing the same role as me who performed the other nights.

Being part of Les Miserables was a very special experience. One of my favourite moments was when I was sitting on stage with thousands of people watching me and a strong light on my face.
