Matariki Evening

Thursday 14th of June Tahuna family and friends celebrated Matariki in our school hall.

An intimate setting in our school hall was set up for our friends and families of Tahuna to share some kai, catch up with friends old and new and to participate in the activities teachers had organised for the evening.

Fried bread was made by a fantastic crew; Ruby, Leo and John with the help of Kevin, John's father. Losa was a fantastic host who handed out fried bread and syrup.

Kids, parents and teachers got their face painted, painted rocks were beautifully decorated, waiata were performed by a small contingent of our kapa haka group - as well as previous students joining in, and games were taught and played.

Thank you to the friends, families, students and teachers who supported this informal but worthy celebration with us. I'm sure next year will be even bigger.
