Taiopeka Whānau Hui
A small group of whānau and staff met for our Term 2 Hui
It was lovely to see the whānau available to meet with us this term. We had a lovely kōrero (chat) de-briefing the school's response to the unprecedented times and how we catered for our students.
Key points covered were:
-Appreciation to whānau for supporting their children and the school over the different Covid Levels.
-Resources for Curriculum Te Reo Māori were made available to teachers to work on over lockdown
-Taiopeka continues with a range of fun activities designed to continue our mahi (work) around whanaungatanga (relationships) and mahi tahi (working as one).
-We are looking forward to performing for our community in lieu of the polyfest.
-Extension Māori programmes are in place for those students wanting/needing extension with the reo.
-We also discussed the possibility of a noho at Araiteuru Marae in the near future.
Year 8 Otakou Marae visit is scheduled for 24th and 25th November - We would really like some leadership and assistance from our Taiopeka Whānau here.
Year 7 Marae Week is scheduled for the 30th of November - 4th December
If you have any ideas for any of the pānui (notices) mentioned above please do not hesitate to make contact.
We look forward to our next hui in term 3.
