Friday Dance – Term 2 Highlights

Friday Dance was once again a huge success in Term 2! Every Friday, students came together for 45 minutes of movement, music, and fun. Each session began with a warm-up, followed by stretching and strengthening exercises to prepare our bodies before learning a new dance routine.

We usually spend two weeks learning and practising each routine, giving students plenty of time to build their confidence and perfect the choreography. This term, students danced to a fantastic mix of songs, including "Cha Cha Slide," Missy Elliott's "Pass That Dutch," KATSEYE's "Pinky Up," Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," and Fergie's "Fergalicious."

Students have the opportunity to sign up or continue with Friday Dance at the beginning of each term, and it has been wonderful to see so many enthusiastic participants returning and new students joining in!

This term, we will begin by continuing to learn a variety of new dance routines. As the term progresses, our focus will shift towards preparing items for the Tahuna Showcase. We are looking forward to seeing our dancers perform and showcase everything they have been working on.

One of the highlights of Friday Dance has been seeing students step up to take the lead during sessions. Their confidence, enthusiasm, and willingness to support their peers have been fantastic to watch!
