Tirohanga Day 2

Running. Challenges. Horror!

The sun was creeping over the hills, day 2 was upon us! First up it was a walk up the hill to enjoy the sun rise over the valley, it was absolutely stunning! Well worth dodging lots of sheep poo (what was that sheep even eating!!). We then headed into our daily fitness routines.

After brekkie it was time to tackle a bunch of different activities in our activity groups. We all had a go at air rifle shooting, giant puzzles, grass ski racing and tackling the confidence course. Thanks to our parents and legendary grandparent for their guidance, support and leadership, our lunch of pies and pizza never tasted so good!

In the afternoon we headed down to our spotlight arena and tackled the three walls. We were really challenged by these, but managed to get pretty much everyone over the first two walls and we helped Sam Bell over the 3rd wall (around 12 feet high!!!). If we had more time, more would have made it, but the temperature was hitting the high 20's, so time to hit the water slide and have an hour long water fight.

After showers and a clean up we were back cooking our burgers outside in the glorious sunshine. We completed our diary writing and headed into campfire stories - they were a little scary, but we loved the rush of adrenaline. We heard all about the camp counsellor wandering the hills calling our TONIE!!!!! (ask your child....)

Then for those who wanted extra thrills we headed into the forest around 10pm for a night walk (no light, just a rope to guide us) where we encountered lots of friendly (and not so friendly) locals.
