Tahuna 2026 Winter Sport Wrap-Up

As another successful winter sports season comes to a close, we would like to thank all of our students, coaches, managers, officials and whānau who have contributed to what has been a fantastic few months of sport.

One of the highlights of the season was hosting our annual Oamaru Exchange. It was a fantastic day of competition across basketball, netball, football, hockey and rugby, with students from both schools displaying excellent skill, determination and sportsmanship. The exchange continues to be a special tradition, providing our students with memorable experiences and the opportunity to represent Tahuna with pride. A huge thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes to make the day such a success.

Although the regular season is coming to an end, there is still plenty of exciting sport to come. Many of our teams have qualified for finals over the next couple of weeks, and we encourage all members of our Tahuna community to get along and support them if you can. Having family, friends and supporters on the sidelines makes a real difference and creates a fantastic atmosphere for our students as they compete in the biggest games of their season.

To our parents and whānau, thank you for the countless early mornings, after school pick ups, transport, washing uniforms and cheering from the sidelines. Your support allows our students to take part in these opportunities and is greatly appreciated by both the school and our teams.

Best of luck to all of our finalists, we can't wait to see you finish the winter season strongly.
