Year 8 News

So far, Year 8 students have been busy working in their PBL groups, preparing their chemistry experiments. It has been great seeing students develop their independence and research skills as they run their trials to see if their experiments match their hypotheses, as well as trying to replicate them with common household ingredients.

Year 8 students have also been participating in swimming sessions, with week 7 marking our final sessions. Students have engaged in a number of activities such as Just Swim lessons, Surf Life Saving skills, IRB (Inflatable Raft Boat), and raft-building team challenges. It has been great to see students trying new things and stepping outside their comfort zones.

Year 8 camps have been completed with huge success. Students had an amazing opportunity to extend themselves within our EOTC program. It was great to see so many students returning to Tahuna tired but excited after a fun-filled week at Columba, buzzing about their camp experiences. A huge thanks to all the parent helpers who attended camp, enabling us to deliver an awesome program.

Finally, Year 8 staff have been busy working on our mid-year reports. These will be emailed home in week 9, with parent-teacher interviews being held in week 10 on Monday, 1st July, and Tuesday, 2nd July. More information and the interview booking link will be sent out soon.
