Taieri Rafting Adventure

A big group of Tahuna Students set off on an adventure to raft the Taieri this week. Conditions were testing but we had a lot of fun and had an awesome outdoor experience.

Forty students and twelve adults took part in the rafting trip which was organised by Steve and his team at Wild Earth Adventures.

We met at Outram Glen, walked to Lee Stream and were transported further up river by jet boat. After a comprehensive safety debrief we started our journey back down river which was broken up by a very well received BBQ. The more challenging rapids were at the start of the trip and there was plenty of adrenaline flowing.

Lots of water in the river and plenty of sun meant a fantastic day! We would like to thank our guides and a big thanks to Steve and Emma from Wild Earth Adventures and our awesome parent helpers. Tahuna parents that come along on these activities are very supportive and helpful to the teachers organising.
