Ōtepoti Dunedin Ukulele Jam #2 was hosted by Tahuna Intermediate this term and we had some very special guests:
Our Kiwileles were entertained at half time by the Tahuna Intermediate band Echo District followed by Kōkako Award winner Emery Goodwin, with mum Amanda on guitar. Their performances were inspiring for everyone watching.
We were also thrilled to have Sarah from Otago Rugby join us, along with the Ranfurly Shield! Our 16 schools took the chance to wish the Otago Rugby team all the best for their NPC final this weekend, with a rousing ukulele "OTAAAAAAAGO" chant!!!
The Dunedin Public Art Gallery educators had a tough time judging the Uke Art competition, as you can see from the incredibly creative 3D designs. We congratulated everyone that put in an entry. Art and music complement each other perfectly.
It was a superb morning of music, fun and laughter, rounded off with another brilliant teacher item - What Kind of Rock!
Thanks to all the schools involved and to MEO. Music Education Otago for organising the event.
