Wow, What a Show!

The Grand Finale Talent Quest was an absolute hit!

After making their way through the Preliminary Rounds and Semi-Finals, eight talented finalists earned their place on the stage for Friday’s Grand Finale. What an incredible achievement! Preliminary and Semi rounds took place in weeks 4 and 6 of term 3 and were judged by our very talented Staff.

We were very lucky to have four very special celebrity judges join us for the Grand Finale event:

• Amber Bridgman – NZ Fashion Designer (and Allumni of Tahuna!)

• Tali Joy – NZ Rap Artist and MC

• Lisa Wilkinson – Principal of RASA School of Dance

• Caprice Gifford – Professional Commercial Dancer and Performer

The Grand Finale was a wonderful celebration of talent, creativity and confidence, with the whole school getting involved and supporting our performers. Our school was treated to an amazing variety of acts, including piano, violin, speeches, aerobics, gymnastics and dance.

Each of our eight finalists should be incredibly proud of themselves for making it to the grand finale event. It takes courage and confidence to step onto a stage in front of the whole school, and it was fantastic to see these students embrace the opportunity and shine! There were well over 70 students who had entered the competition!

What an event it was! It was wonderful to come together as a school community and celebrate the confidence, courage and incredible talents of our students. What a show — and what a way to celebrate our amazing performers!

Overall Winner: Idiots in Fancy Clothes

Best Stage Presence: Galaxie Stockman-Edwards & The Ignite Girls.

Best Technical Skill: Zac Mitchell & Idiots in Fancy Clothes

Most Creative: Piper Leishman

Best prepared and Polished: Ryan Lightfoot

Best Team Performance: The Tiny Teddies

Most entertaining: Mana Tama
