Mud, Sweat and Tears.......

Physical challenges at their best!!

I woke to to hear pouring rain. Mrs McBride woke us up and asked us to change into our filthiest clothes........My heart sunk slightly, but a part of me was excited at the same time. We assembled in the lounge and did some exercises to warm up our muscles. Mrs McBride put us in to groups competitive v's non competitive. She then took us out to walk us around our last group challenge. It was way more intense than what I was expecting, but I couldn't wait to get amongst it.  Then she broke the news competitive must complete the challenge twice and non competitive once.........how is this fair I thought. It began.......It was falling in to a pit of sludge. the smell of what muck crawled up my nose. My shoes coming off as the mud from underneath sucked them in. We could feel mud going up our backs, as gross as it sounds we were having heaps of fun until the first humongous water spider floated past us! We were finally back on land then back through another creek. Once we climbed the bank we were faced with the biggest puddle of mud ever! "Yesssss we yelled victory is upon us, along with a whole heap of mud"!! This turned into more of a 'who can slide the furthest sort of challenge', it was amazing! Once we regrouped we continued on to face with more challenges, some more happy than others. A giant mix of emotions. But with positive energy and team support we made it to the end.......only to be greeted with a heavy duty fire hose, then into a well deserved, hot shower! Mud, swear and tears was most definitely the highlight of our camp!!  We didn't think so at the start, but THANKS A BUNCH Mrs McBride.
