Athletics Day!

The bell rang to start the day, filling me up with nerves and excitement all at once. We got changed into our house colours and went to our leaders. We got put into a line for our age groups, went outside and started our events. First up shot put I just got over the mark to qualify!!! After that we had discus, for this one I just got below the mark. Then long jump, all though I jumped from over the mark to jump from Mrs Coughlin still put me down as qualified. We had sprints which I just won in for my house and then 800 meter where I came 7th. But then… it started raining!!! We went inside to have lunch while the teachers thought about what to do. In the end it was raining so much we did our house chant off… Mr Hunter announced the winners. First place is Tumataueka! In second tied are Tokaroa and Tane Mahuta! And his last place is mahuika. In the end it was a very fun and exciting day.
