Tahuna Intermediate Athletics Day 2026: A Dunner Stunner!

Last Friday, Tahuna Intermediate held its annual Athletics Day, with events taking place at Tahuna Park and on school grounds due to the Caledonian Ground being unavailable.

We were treated to a dunner stunner of a day weather wise, providing the perfect conditions for our students to get involved, challenge themselves and showcase their athletic abilities. From the track and field events to the competitive house spirit on display, it was fantastic to see so many students giving their best, supporting their teammates and getting stuck into the wide range of activities throughout the day.

The highlight of the day was the highly anticipated sprint finals, held in front of a packed Tahuna Park grandstand. There was plenty of excitement and support from the crowd as our finalists lined up for the showcase races. Congratulations to Valerie Beatson, who claimed the girls’ sprint title, and Levi Erskine, who took out the boys’ sprint final.

A big congratulations to all our students for their efforts and participation, and a big thank you to our staff and everyone who helped organise and run the events. Another fantastic Athletics Day for Tahuna Intermediate!
